Exp2. Week6

My Strategy:
I've decided to have a peaceful environment with trees and the nature surrounding the building with a beautiful weather for the dramatic effect of changing themes. For the 'life after people' environment, the theme is that the building that is abandoned for a 100 years so that it has been decayed over time without an enormous scale of natural disaster, however, I'm going to show that how it has decayed naturally without a big change and how it has interacted to the environment. I'm also going to show that the difference between the building that has been maintained by human and when not by placing grown grass, trees, dust, moss and other nature elements. As my building has a large concrete slab supported by concrete columns, the concrete slab will be destructed.

5 Movie Trailers:

The Lord of the Rings : The Two Towers (2002)
The use of bright and dark scenes with different feelings (peace and chaos) is very catchy. This technique could help me when making my video.

Gladiator (2000)
The background music in this movie and the camera techniques attract the attention.
I could use similar music for my trailer.

2012 (2009)
the camera angles that are used in this movie trailer are very interesting. I've learn that I could use various of close-up and zooming in and out techniques for a dramatic effect.

V for Vendetta (2005)
The colour tones used in this movie give depressing as well and imposing feeling. This can be helpful when making the second part (life after people) of my trailer.

Noah (2014)
Like 2012, the atmosphere in this movie trailer is similar to my theme. I could improve my environment in Cryengine by referring to this.

Exp2. Week3 and 4

3 reference images:

Due to the gravity force, the concrete slab will be broken starting from the middle part and will eventually fall.

Progress Images:

Left: original model Right: new model
I've struggled exporting the existing model that is provided from 3ds max to cryengine as there were too many elements and a lot of them were unnecessary, so I've used sketchup for a simpler model. the one on the left is the original one and it has too many unnecessary lines and boxes that are not organised and grouped. The one on the right is the model that I've made. It is simpler and has all the necessary elements.

Exp2. Week2

Crazybump Before and After:

Concrete:
Concrete is the product of mixing, aggregate (rock, sand, or gravel), cement and water. The setting of concrete is a chemical reaction between the cement and the water, not a drying process. This reaction is called hydration, it evolves heat as does any chemical reaction, and the process is irreversible.

Steel:
Steel is an alloy of iron with about 1 percent carbon. It may also contain other elements, such as manganese. Whereas pure iron is a relatively soft metal that rusts easily, steel can be hard, tough, and corrosion-resistant. Used to make almost everything from skyscraper girders, automobiles, and appliances to thumb tacks and paper clips, steel is one of the world's most vital materials

Brick:
brick. Solid, hollow, or indented building element, usually rectangular, but also other shapes for special purposes, manufactured from clay, concrete, sand, and lime, or other materials, formed in a mould, then burnt, set, or cured
